Soil type: Mainly decomposed granite soils with good clay content.
Harvest date: Harvest commenced on the 5th of February 2003.
Yield: 6 tons/ha or 42 hl/ha
Harvest stats: Harvested at an average of 25.0şB; TA 7.5 g/litre; pH 3.38
Vinification: Fermentation of this wine was initiated in stainless steel tanks, underwent a series of pump overs until dry.
Maturation: This wine was matured in French oak barrels for 14 months. 25% of the wood was new.
Bottling date: Bottled in June 2005.
Analysis: Alcohol 13.5%; Residual sugar 1.7 g/litre; TA 5.8 g/litre; pH 3.5
Tasting note: Deep red colour, plummy cherry fruit with subtle hints of tobacco fill the aroma of the wine. This wine has well balanced ripe tannins giving a soft elegant taste.
